Virgin Media was the world's first Mobile Network Operator, or MNO, which means they don't own their own mobile network but use a third party's (source: Wikipedia). Virgin SIM only plans currently use EE's network although sadly this does not extend to their 4G coverage which means there are no Virgin SIM only 4G deals currently available.
Let’s take a look at some of their features.
What sets this Virgin Media SIM card apart from many other carriers is the ability to use the airtime from your package to make calls and send text to any UK mobile network. Landlines are also included in the suite of services, so that means any number starting with a 01 or 02. Itemized online billing and voicemail are completely free as well. It’s easy to switch to a SIM Only option because you can elect to get a pay as you go cycle or pay monthly. The major difference is the length of the rolling contract. The pay monthly value has 30 day rolling tariffs while a pay as you go option is allocated based on your accumulated usage.
During peak and off-peak times, there is no difference between the call rates. Help lines can be contacted free of charge. For regular calls, each charge is rounded up to the nearest penny.
