Ofcom report shows mobile phone service better than landline or broadband

A recent study from the UK’s communications regulator Ofcom has shown that consumers are more satisfied with their mobile phone service than with their broadband or landline services.

Many people these days have a range of communications services at their disposal, from their trusty old landlines to broadband services and mobile phone services. We use these to varying levels depending on our needs and preferences and we also have different views on how reliable each of these services is.

A recent study was carried out by communications regulator Ofcom and the results of the study indicated that consumers seems to be more satisfied with their mobile phone service than with their landline and broadband services. The study showed that when it came to mobile phones seventy percent of users were happy with their service. However, when it came to landline services and broadband services only sixty percent were satisfied.

Over three thousand service users were polled as part of the study, which was carried out over the month of September. As part of the study, participants had to advise whether they had needed to contact their service provider within the previous three months and whether they had been happy with the results of the phone call. When it came to mobile phone satisfaction the companies leading the way included Orange, O2 and T-Mobile.

An official from Ofcom said: “Ofcom hopes that this research will both incentivise providers to improve all aspects of their customer service, as well as giving consumers valuable information about the standards of customer service when choosing a provider.”
