3 of course provide mobile contracts with handsets, but the network’s SIM only plans are infinitely better. The mobile contracts will require you to pay more per month and also would need you to take longer contracts. Which would mean you would be paying around 30 pounds per month. 3 offers both 30 day rolling contracts and 12 month contracts. With shorter contacts, you have the flexibility of going for another service provider if you want to. The 12 month contract offers you more minutes and texts.

If you do not want to switch, your 30 day contract will continue till you decide to stop.

The plans include any network minutes, additional three to three minutes and ability to send thousands of texts per month. You also have free limited internet, free Windows Live Messenger chat and the option to make free Skype to Skype calls provided your mobile handset is Skype friendly. 3 offers 3G speeds, so if your mobile can work on 3G speeds, you would get very high speeds with your internet. You also get free voice mail with the plans.

3 also offers other add on packages which you can get at small additional charge. This allows you to get more internet data. Certain plans include free email as well, both personal and work email accounts. The more the plan has the costlier it will be. Still, these add on packages cost reasonably low.

There is an additional offer that you get with the network’s SIM only plans. You get to browse Planet 3 for free. The Planet 3 has links to most of your favorite websites. It also has the latest applications. You could also check out your My3 account here.

Though looking around Planet 3 doesn’t cost you, downloading applications or clicking on web links does. The internet included with the deals as well as the add on packages will provide you the necessary data.

What you need to do to get a 3 SIM only plan is to get yourself a network unlocked mobile handset. If you have bought a SIM free mobile handset then it is no problem. If you bought your handset from 3, then also it is no problem.

But if you bought your mobile handset from some other network, then you will need to contact the network provider and ask for the unlocking code (known as Depersonalisation Control Key or DCK). You can use the DCK to unlock your mobile and then buy a 3 SIM only plan of your choice.

You have your option of handset. You have shorter contracts which allow you the flexibility to switch network or plans if and when you find a better deal. You need to pay lesser than the mobile contracts. It would be really useful indeed to get yourself a Three SIM only plan.
